The fourth annual American Lawyer Industry Awards, held Dec. 2 in New York, recognized the lawyers, leaders and law firms that left their mark on the legal industry, the profession and society over the course of a tumultuous period in the country’s history.

In a time of so much stress and strain—for lawyers, for clients and for the broader world around them all—the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work being done by attorneys of all stripes. That work includes the admirable careers of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, the deeply meaningful achievements of the Attorney of the Year Award finalists, the courtroom excellence displayed by the Litigation Departments of the Year and Litigator of the Year honorees, and the impressive resume of the Law Firm of the Year.
