Twenty-three firms posted gross revenue of $1 billion or more in 2013, up from 20 in 2012. Kirkland & Ellis became the fifth firm to cross the $2 billion revenue threshold. The newly configured Norton Rose Fulbright verein was the only new member of the top 10. It is the fourth verein in the top 10, joining DLA Piper, Baker & McKenzie and Hogan Lovells.
Seventy-two firms reported gains in gross revenue, compared with 76 a year ago. The biggest increase, 17.8 percent, was posted by Polsinelli. It was also the only firm to show an increase of more than 15 percent (six firms did so a year ago). Bingham McCutchen had the steepest decline in gross revenue, 12.6 percent.
