PepsiCo, Inc., is buying its two largest bottlers. The soft drink giant announced August 4 that it had agreed to acquire the 67 percent of Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc., and the 57 percent of PepsiAmericas, Inc., that it doesn’t already own for a combined $7.8 billion in cash and stock. The agreements represented a significant hike from the $6 billion offer for the stakes that PepsiCo made on April 20.
