A lack of open communication, a perception that information was being kept from them and a sudden notice that they won’t have jobs anymore culminated in what has been a very rocky road for staff at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan the past several years.

As Stroock prepares to wind down and its New York office will close by Jan. 30, 2024, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice, the fate of many of its business professionals remains up in the air. According to the layoff notice, nearly 140 employees in New York will lose their jobs.
