Deadlines for logging billable time within law firms are becoming more imminent. A recent survey by Harbor Global reported that nearly half of participating firms, or 45.7%, enforce weekly deadlines, 31.4% enforce two- to three-day deadlines and 5.7% enforce daily deadlines.

This majority rate of 82.8% of firms enforcing weekly or sooner time entry deadlines is an increase from the 69% reported in 2022 by Harbor, formerly known as HBR Consulting. And according to the 2023 survey, 78% of participating firms encourage daily deadlines but don’t enforce them.
