A group led by conservative legal activist Edward Blum filed lawsuits against two Am Law 100 firms on Tuesday alleging discrimination in paid diversity fellowships, prompting others to check the language of their own diversity programs to keep out of Blum’s crosshairs.

The American Alliance for Equal Rights filed the lawsuits against Perkins Coie and Morrison & Foerster in Texas and Florida, respectively—favorable jurisdictions for complaints the group hopes to take to the U.S. Supreme Court, several DEI lawyers said. The suits, filed on behalf of a “white, heterosexual man,” seek to end the diversity fellowships at the firms.
