This average hours chart ranks Am Law 200 firms by the average bono hours performed by their U.S.-based lawyers in 2022. Calculations are based on lawyer counts as of Dec. 31, 2022. Of the firms ranked, 10 averaged more than 100 hours per lawyer, while 109 firms achieved the industry standard of more than 20 hours on average per lawyer.

This breadth of commitment chart ranks Am Law 200 firms by the percentage of their U.S.-based lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work in 2022. Calculations are based on lawyer counts as of Dec. 31, 2022, allowing firms to go over 100% given hirings throughout the year. Nearly 50 firms have at least half of their lawyers who are meeting the 20-hour-per-lawyer benchmark.
