For the Am Law 100 as a whole, average revenue per lawyer, the metric that we’ve long regarded as the most reliable measure of a firm’s financial health, increased by 12.5%, higher than the 5% increase at Am Law 100 firms in 2020. In 2021, 96 firms posted a gain in RPL.

Shearman & Sterling posted 2021’s largest growth in RPL, with a 34.5% gain. Crowell & Moring had the largest drop, 14.3%.
