Across the whole world, law firms are engaged in the same debate: How much do lawyers need to be in the office?

A flashpoint came last summer when Morgan Stanley chief legal officer Eric Grossman issued a call for all the bank’s external advisers to return to in-person meetings, and the argument continues today with many firms struggling to get workers back in, even when lockdown restrictions are not in place.
