A federal judge who declared a mistrial in a slip-and-fall suit against Outback Steakhouse in August has set a new trial date for February 2024. All of the parties—including the plaintiff’s former counsel facing potential sanctions for the alleged misconduct that resulted in the mistrial—have lawyers. Everyone, that is, except the original plaintiff, Joann Wright Haysbert.

Haysbert remains without counsel in her ongoing action against Bloomin’ Brands, the parent company of Outback Steakhouse, after she was allegedly injured in a slip-and-fall incident at a restaurant in Chesapeake, Virginia.
