With his lawsuit hanging by a thread, a lawyer for the Girardi Keese bankruptcy estate pleaded with the judge to allow him to amend his complaint alleging the largest lender to Tom Girardi’s law firm was complicit in his fraud.
“This is too big of a case to be given one shot,” Larry Gabriel, who represents trustee Elissa Miller, said at a hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He referenced a Feb. 1 indictment by federal prosecutors in Chicago that alleged Girardi “stole money from the clients” of the 2018 crash of Lion Air Flight 610.
