Legal software company Epiq Systems Inc. has ended months of speculation about its future by agreeing to be taken private with the help of four members of its target audience.

The Kansas City, Kansas-based company announced Wednesday a sale to Canada’s OMERS Private Equity Inc. and funds managed by New York-based Harvest Partners LP in a deal valued at $1 billion, including assumed debt, according to sibling publication LegalTech News.
