While the modern homes of some Am Law 100 partners will always receive their fair share of attention, some notable households of eras past have fallen on harder times.

Historic Pitney Farm, once owned by the family that co-founded Am Law 200 firm Day Pitney, has been the focus of a fierce preservation battle covered by The Wall Street Journal last year. The historic Colonial mansion in northern New Jersey was badly damaged this week by an early morning fire, the circumstances of which are being investigated by the Morris County prosecutor’s office.
