As if hiring former New York City mayor and ex-Republican presidential candidate RUDY GIULIANI to head its cybersecurity and crisis management practice wasn’t enough, Greenberg Traurig has quietly made several other notable additions this month around the country.

The firm added TIMOTHY ALGER, a former head of litigation at Google who in 2011 joined Perkins Coie’s offices in Los Angeles and Palo Alto, California, as a partner in Los Angeles and nearby Irvine, California, according to records on file with The State Bar of California. GARY STIFFELMAN, a longtime music industry lawyer at high-powered Hollywood boutique Ziffren Brittenham, left this week for Greenberg Traurig’s entertainment and media practice in Los Angeles. Greenberg Traurig also hired labor and employment litigation of counsel KIMBERLY COLE in Los Angeles from Dal Soglio & Martens, a women-owned local firm where she was also of counsel.
