There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but online dating company The Match Group has agreed to pay $575 million for some of them.

The Match Group, a subsidiary of Barry Diller-backed Internet giant IAC/InterActiveCorp, announced this week its acquisition of Vancouver-based PlentyofFish Media in an all-cash deal. And when you’re an aptly titled online dating site that wields a pretty price tag, you need some big-firm companionship to really close the deal.
