Two high-powered global firms have been hired by Google to fight antitrust claims leveled at the technology giant this week by the European Union.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton will defend Google against allegations that its enormously popular Internet search engine favored the company’s own products over those of its competitors, while Allen & Overy will handle a separate antitrust investigation into Google’s Android operating system.
