Fresh off adding a new litigation chief from the lateral market, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson snagged Shearman & Sterling’s IP litigation chair Scott Doyle and partner Jonathan DeFosse in Washington, D.C., where Doyle served as his former firm’s local co-managing partner.

Doyle, 52, will become the new head of Fried Frank’s IP litigation practice. He joined Shearman & Sterling in July 2009 from Steptoe & Johnson, where he battled telecommunications giant Verizon in VoIP patent litigation on behalf of client Vonage Holdings. The two sides eventually reached a negotiated settlement.
