The head of the criminal division for the vaunted U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan is joining Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison’s white-collar and regulatory defense practice next month. Paul Weiss touted its hire of LORIN REISNER in a press release late Thursday, the day after The New York Times reported that he would leave government service.

Reisner, 52, was previously a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton, but left the firm in 2009 to become head of the SEC’s enforcement division in New York, according to our previous reports. He then decamped from the SEC two years later to become head of the criminal division under U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
