Three Am Law 100 firms welcomed new recruits this month from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, which is poised to promote eight new lawyers to partner.

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe welcomed Weil life sciences litigation partner KATHLEEN O’CONNOR to its ranks this week in New York, where she joined her former firm three years ago in a high-profile lateral move from Dechert. O’Connor, who maintains strong ties to Dechert, having married the firm’s current global litigation chair last year, joins Orrick two months after the firm hired Weil partner Thomas Schmid to serve as its new head of German M&A and private equity in Munich. (Orrick halved the size of its German operations earlier this year.)
