He’s not Eric Holder Jr., but Covington & Burling is poised to hire Morrison & Foerster consumer financial services partner ANDREW SMITH in Washington, D.C.

Smith, who has spent the past decade at MoFo after joining the firm in 2005 following a stint as a senior lawyer with the Federal Trade Commission, specializes in handling matters before the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The National Law Journal, a sibling publication, reported this summer on the CFPB hitting its stride in its third year with an increase in enforcement actions that have yielded roles for Am Law 100 firms.
