Mayer Brown launched a German private equity practice last week by hiring two partners in Frankfurt from King & Wood Mallesons, a global legal giant that just posted flat global gross revenue for 2015 after announcing in January that it would tweak its financial structure following a series of partner departures.

JULIAN LEMOR, head of King & Wood Mallesons’ German private equity group, and partner BIRGIT HUEBSCHER-ALT are among those leaving the firm for Mayer Brown. German legal publication Juve reports that the lawyers previously worked together at SJ Berwin, a London-based firm that King & Wood Mallesons absorbed in 2013 prior to its recent decision to review its European finances.
