Lawyers representing corporations and their legions of specialized foreign workers are fretting—along with their clients—over possible changes to immigration rules under President Donald Trump that may affect their work, but are urging that everyone remain calm, but vigilant, at least for the near future.

The Trump administration is considering changes to immigration rules that could restrict foreign workers’ access to coveted H-1B visas, which allow U.S. companies to bring in highly educated, skilled and specialized workers from overseas, as well as new limits to a program that allows foreign students to remain in the United States for work training after college.
