McDermott Will & Emery, which announced Tuesday that the two co-chairmen it elected in 2009 would step down from the firm’s top leadership role at year’s end, recently recruited a new partner for its transactional group in London.

Last week the firm welcomed partner MICHAEL HOLTER, who specializes in new media and aviation industry work, from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. Holter spent 20 years at Wilmer, including two as head of the firm’s London office, which last summer downsized its presence from two locations to just one. Legal Week, a sibling publication, reported at the time that Holter would leave Wilmer as a result of its plans to consolidate its operations in London.
