The Golden State Warriors are the reigning champions of the National Basketball Association, and now one of the team’s outside vendors for data-driven analysis has hired a Kirkland & Ellis partner from the Bay Area.

TAI HSIA, a corporate lawyer at Kirkland since 2002 who made partner in 2007, when he became a founding partner of the firm’s new base in Hong Kong, left Kirkland’s San Francisco office this month to become chief operating officer and general counsel of Silicon Valley sports analytics startup MOCAP Analytics.
