Nixon Peabody, having had unsuccessful tie-up talks in recent years with the likes of Blank Rome and Locke Lord, is now reportedly looking at a potential acquisition of Chicago’s Ungaretti & Harris.

Crain’s Chicago Business, citing unidentified individuals familiar with the talks, reported Wednesday that Nixon Peabody was “deep in negotiations” to acquire the roughly 100-lawyer Ungaretti & Harris in a combination that would take place no later than early February.
