Thomsons Lawyers Adds Adelaide Partner
Australian firm Thomsons Lawyers has added a partner in Adelaide.
Josh Simons, who began his legal career at Thomsons, is returning to the firm after nearly eight years as a partner at Minter Ellison.
Simons specializes in intellectual property and competition law, advising on licensing arrangements, merger clearances, restrictive trade practices and other related regulatory issues. He also represents franchisors on IP and competition matters.
First joining the former Thomsons Playford in 2000, Simons moved to Minter Ellison’s Adelaide office as a partner six years later. Thomson Playford merged with Sydney firm Cutler Hughes & Harris and Melbourne firm Dibbs Abbott Stillman in 2008 and 2009, respectively, renaming itself Thomson Playford Cutlers. The firm changed its name again in 2010 to Thomsons Lawyers.
Thomsons employs about 240 lawyers in offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.
