Bruce Horton told the U.S. Army he’d invented a way to wield sound. He hasn’t been allowed to speak about it since.
Shortly after Horton came forward in 2004, the Army ordered the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to declare his invention TOP SECRET. That means the PTO can’t review his patent application, and Horton is forbidden from using—or even talking about—his design.
