Allbright Set for Hong Kong Launch

Shanghai-based Allbright Law Offices has received approval from the Law Society of Hong Kong to open its first international office in the city.

The new office, set to be launched on November 15, will be based on an alliance with local firm Stevenson, Wong & Co., which has 25 lawyers and practices ranging from corporate finance to family law and litigation.

Allbright Shanghai senior partner David Chen will relocate to Hong Kong to run the office. Chen specializes in intellectual property but handles other matters including civil litigation and arbitration.

Chen couldn’t be reached for comment.

Senior Shanghai partner Victor Wang says the Hong Kong practice will focus on China-related investments and financial transactions as well as dispute resolution and arbitration happened in Hong Kong.

Allbright has 10 offices in nine Chinese cities, with around 800 lawyers.
