The State Bar of California recommended Wednesday that attorney Leah Harmuth's license be canceled after discovering she had falsely claimed a disability required her to be given extra time to take the July 2009 bar exam.

    Apparently, she "needed" the accommodation like a crutch or a drug. I always wondered about my fellow law-school classmates, many of whom had "extra time" or extra pages for timed and page-limited exams, because I've yet to meet a Judge or a client who was happy that you were deficient at the skill required for the task and needed some "special" accommodation. Stupid rules that give benefits to the "disabled", when really, they aren't disabled, but are merely ill-suited for legal practice, lead to stupid people cheating over those stupid rules.
