It’s been 27 years since Robert Plotkin joined Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley & Casey as a young partner, and almost 25 years since the now-notorious firm filed for bankruptcy in 1988. Senior reporter Amy Kolz spoke with Plotkin, now the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement defense group at McGuireWoods, about his memories of the Finley Kumble culture, the issues that led to the firm’s demise, and whether he sees any parallels with the recent fall of Dewey & LeBoeuf.
