Eight months after opening, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan‘s Washington, D.C., office continues to grow. The latest addition: partner JEFFREY GERCHICK, who represents clients in intellectual property matters in federal district court and before the International Trade Commission. Gerchick was previously a partner at intellectual property firm Kenyon & Kenyon.

Quinn Emanuel opened the D.C. office, its sixth in the United States, in September 2011 by bringing in partners Paul Brinkman, Alex Lasher, and Alan Whitehurst from Alston & Bird. The firm expanded on the office’s initial IP focus in January by hiring William Burck, a former Weil, Gotshal & Manges white-collar partner and deputy counsel to President George W. Bush. In a statement announcing Gerchick’s hire, office managing partner Jon Corey said the firm expects to add more attorneys to the 22 now working in D.C.
