Anadarko has agreed to pay $26 million to settle claims that predecessor company Kerr-McGee filed false royalty reports for oil obtained from federally leased property in the Gulf of Mexico. Almost $7 million of the settlement will go to Bobby Maxwell, the former federal employee who blew the whistle on Kerr-McGee.
