On September 14 E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company won a n eye-popping $920 million jury award in a trade secrets case against a South Korean textile competitor. After seven weeks of trial, a federal district court jury in Richmond found that the company, Kolon Industries, Inc., stole confidential information related to the synthetic “para-aramid” fibers used in DuPont’s Kevlar body armor to help it develop a competing product.

The award was the third-largest to date this year, according to Bloomberg.
