The Am Law 200 2009 - Top 20 Revenue Per Lawyer
No matter how you look at it, Wachtell is way ahead of the Am Law 200 pack in every key financial measure. But Second Hundred firms (in boldface) such as Irell & Manella and Munger, Tolles are in the top ten for revenue and value per lawyer. Other Am Law 200 firms making the top ten in these metrics are Williams & Connolly for revenue and Cahill Gordon for value.
Revenue Per Lawyer (RPL) is calculated by dividing gross revenue by the number of lawyers. Profits Per Partner (PPP) is calculated by dividing net operating income by the number of equity partners. Value Per Lawyer (VPL) is calculated by dividing the compensation--all partners by the total number of lawyers. For more details, see our methodology.
