San Francisco-based labor and employment behemoth Littler Mendelson has expanded to Nicaragua, with the July 1 launch of a Managua office by Littler Global member BDS Asesores. Littler, which will be the only global firm with an outpost in Nicaragua, is using the Swiss verein structure for its new branch. The firm first adopted the structure in 2013, when it announced Latin American combinations with Costa Rica-headquartered BDS and Colombia’s Godoy Córdoba Abogados to form Littler Global.

Littler already has existing outposts—also through its tie-up with labor law-focused BDS—in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Honduras and Guatemala. Littler has a presence in the Dominican Republic through BDS as well.
