David Rosewater, co-head of Schulte Roth & Zabel’s global shareholder activism practice, is taking his talents to the business side.

Morgan Stanley has hired Rosewater, named a Dealmaker of the Year by The American Lawyer last year for his work advising a pair of activist funds in two notable proxy contests, as a managing director and head of its shareholder activism and defense group in New York. Rosewater will reunite this summer at Morgan Stanley with Robert Kindler, a vice chairman and global head of M&A at the financial services giant, which he joined in 2006 from JPMorgan Chase.
