Less than a week after Winston & Strawn hired Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s structured products practice head, Jeffrey Stern, it is poised to pick up another 10 corporate, finance and private equity partners from the same firm.

Pillsbury private equity head James Kelly, investment funds and management practice leader Jay Gould, corporate trust services leader Bart Pisella, executive compensation partner Scott Landau and corporate and securities partners Peter Alfano, Anthony Schouten, Michael Wu and Christopher Zochowski have resigned from the firm’s partnership to join Stern at Winston. All are in New York except Gould and Wu, who joined Pillsbury’s San Francisco office in 2006 from White & Case, and Zochowski, who is based in Washington, D.C. Zochowski will co-chair Winston’s M&A and securities practice, while Gould will co-head his new firm’s financial services and investment management group, as noted by sibling publication The Recorder.
