Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld announced Wednesday morning that most of Bingham McCutchen’s London and Frankfurt offices, along with a third of Bingham’s Hong Kong office, will be joining the firm.

The offices include restructuring, corporate, litigation, tax and other capabilities, largely, but not wholly, in service to core investment fund clients in insolvency matters. The raid by Akin will substantially reduce—although not entirely eradicate—Bingham’s presence in London, where the firm celebrated 40 years in the European financial center last year.
