As prosecutors prepare to try former Willkie Farr & Gallagher partner Keila Ravelo for fraud this fall, they are urging a federal judge in New Jersey to bar Ravelo from attacking a potential witness, attorney Gary B. Friedman, and to exclude arguments that could prompt sympathy with jurors.
Ravelo and her husband, Melvin Feliz, were arrested in December 2014 and accused of using phony litigation support vendors to fraudulently obtain $7.8 million from two law firms where she was a partner—Willkie and Hunton & Williams—and from her client, MasterCard.
