Every now and then I ruffle some feathers. That happened a few weeks ago when I questioned the hype surrounding so-called “virtual” law firms (firms without offices or support staff in which lawyers work from their homes). Specifically, I expressed skepticism that these cloud-based operations are competing against Big Law for major rainmakers and clients (“ Bad News: Rainmakers Aren’t Lounging in Their PJs“), as some of their founders contend.
