The outpost on the island nation located just north of Australia will serve to handle natural resources work and be led by local partner KARO LELAI, a former general counsel for Kumul Minerals Holdings Ltd. and a prominent member of Papua New Guinea’s sports federation. Reuters reported in December on potential changes to the country’s mining laws that could usher in a flood of foreign investment.
