Thirty years ago, Susan Estrich was a young legal scholar whose writings helped propel a national discussion about gender equality and the barriers women faced in bringing rape and sexual harassment claims. Now, Estrich is fighting to fend off harassment claims against embattled Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, who is reportedly in negotiations about leaving the company he founded.

After former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson sued Ailes for sexual harassment earlier this month, the network’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, hired Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison to conduct an internal investigation. Ailes, meanwhile, turned to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, tapping Estrich along with name partner John Quinn. (The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing Estrich, that Ailes may soon be departing from Fox.)
