After dozens of law firms boosted their starting salaries for associates to $180,000 this month, one midsize Washington, D.C., firm is reminding its associates that base pay isn’t everything when it comes to compensation.

BuckleySandler told its associates and other attorneys and staff on Friday that its salary scale won’t change this summer, but it will pay midyear bonuses to all. The firm, which specializes in financial services litigation, said that its own financial results have been “above expectations” so far this year.
