Reed Smith, which earlier this year trimmed some of its real estate expenses and announced plans to let go of 45 lawyers and additional staff in order to better manage its bottom line, has restocked its partnership ranks in recent weeks with several new hires.

In Washington, D.C., Reed Smith announced Monday its hire of Kelley Drye & Warren government contracts co-chair HOLLY ROTH as a partner in Washington, D.C., where she fills a void created a year ago when Reed Smith’s former government contracts and grants head defected for Crowell & Moring. Reed Smith also grabbed Goodwin Procter’s privacy, data security and Internet strategies head GERARD STEGMAIER for its cybersecurity practice in Washington, D.C. Stegmaier, who left Goodwin Procter earlier this month, also is a senior research fellow at the recently renamed George Mason University School of Law.
