This week Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith sued the Los Angeles real estate developer who owned an apartment complex near its former office in the city, claiming that the developer is responsible for damage to the firm’s offices that were caused by a massive fire at the property.

The blaze erupted in December 2014, demolishing a wood-framed apartment complex, then under construction, that covered an area three to four football fields in size, according to the complaint. The complex, called The DaVinci Apartments and located at 900-909 W. Temple Street, was allegedly developed by Geoffrey Palmer, who is named as a defendant.
