Former Dorsey & Whitney partner Kristan Peters-Hamlin, who previously received a seven-year suspension in New York based on misconduct during a trade secrets case, was disbarred Friday in Maryland following a related disciplinary proceeding. The disbarment doesn’t affect her status in Connecticut, where she continues to practice law.

With a 4-3 ruling, a panel of Maryland Court of Appeals judges handed down the disbarment after finding that Peters-Hamlin engaged in “repeated intentional dishonesty” during a trade secrets case she handled in 2007. The panel also faulted Peters-Hamlin for continuing “to deflect, minimize her actions and shift blame onto others at Dorsey & Whitney” during her recent disciplinary case in Maryland.
