To a music festival-loving time traveller from 25 years ago, the latest headlines about Austin’s ever-growing South by Southwest conference would be a major shock. Not only did both the president and the first lady deliver keynotes at SXSW gatherings this year, but one of the biggest SXSW stories this week was about a Big Law partner, Steptoe & Johnson’s Stewart Baker.
A former National Security Agency general counsel, Baker made headlines at a SXSW panel on Monday when he bashed Apple Inc.’s refusal to help federal investigators access an iPhone used by a shooter in last year’s San Bernardino terror attacks.
