Already active in the Latin American space, Iberian legal giant Garrigues has continued its regional expansion with the integration of Chilean firm Avendaño Merino. The move marks the latest Latin American foray by a set of increasingly global Spanish firms.

Prior to entering Chile, Garrigues already had regional outposts in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. With the addition of roughly 20 lawyers from Avendaño Merino—five of them partners—the Chilean integration gives Garrigues more than 100 lawyers on the ground in Latin America, with plans for more.
