Highlighting the ongoing demand for lawyers serving the health care industry, McDermott, Will & Emery has recruited the head of Paul Hastings’ health care group. Chicago-based McDermott announced Tuesday that James Owens, 54, is joining its health industry advisory practice group in Los Angeles.
Health care has been a target area for growth at McDermott, which saw its gross revenue slip 0.9 percent in 2015. To attract health industry clients, the firm recently set up McDermott+Consulting to provide lobbying, data analytics and policy advice to the industry.
