But Roberta Kaplan, a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, dives right into the subject in her book Then Comes Marriage. The lead lawyer in United States v. Windsor, Kaplan gives us an inside look into the watershed case that defeated the Defense of Marriage Act—and more. She recently talked to The American Lawyer about committing her experiences to paper, working with a client who likes to talk about sex, and her return to more run-of-the-mill litigation.
